That was quick. Kanye West spent less than an hour at a Los Angeles police station for a formal booking on Thursday, according to the booking sheet obtained by E! News. The rapper arrived with his lawyer at the Hollywood LAPD station at 4:30 p.m. and was charged with a misdemeanor in connection with his 2013 attack on a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport.
Per TMZ, who was first to report the news, West had his mug-shot taken and was fingerprinted. He was released at 5:19 p.m. The 36-year-old pled no contest to one count of battery on March 17 in response to a 2013 lawsuit filed against him by a paparazzo. The case stemmed from an August incident where West attacked the shutterbug, who was trying to take photos of the hip- hop star at LAX. The Grammy winner was given 24 months probation and ordered to do 240 hours of community service. He is also required to complete 24 sessions of a level-two anger management program and he needed to turn himself in to the LAPD for a formal booking, which he handled on Thursday. West was not required to be in court, nor was he present. His next hearing will take place on July 17 at 1:30 p.m. regarding restitution.
