Tragedy struck yesterday as four students of the College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi, were feared dead in a ghastly auto crash along the Benin-Sapele Road bypass when a commercial vehicle had a burst tyre and somersaulted severally. Five persons out of the 13 passengers on the bus, including the driver, sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the state-owned Central Hospital for medical attention in Benin.Narrating their ordeal, one of the victims who gave his name as Messiah Attah said they were going from Iguoriakhi to Delta state for a burial when the tyre of the vehicle suddenly burst and the motor somersaulted severally leaving some of his friends dead. Messiah said they were heading for one of their members’ grandmother burial who he gave his name as Peter John who sustained minor injuries. Reacting to the development, Edo State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Lucka Ikpil, who confirmed the tragic incident, however, attributed the crash to over speeding.
