Selena Gomez Fired Her Parents

She wants new management. Though Selena Gomez applauded her mother in a speech at We Day earlier this month as "the definition of a strong woman," she may not want to work with her anymore. TMZ says Gomez recently "fired" her mom and stepfather from their long-time positions on her management team. Selena, who's reportedly argued "plenty" with her folks over recent career choices, now wants to be managed by "a seasoned professional with other A-list clients." This is a common rite of passage for child stars, particularly Disney kids, who tend to split from their folks once they grow up and carve out careers in Hollywood's big leagues. Even celebrities have to leave the nest.
