Myanmar is one of the countries in Southeast Asia which is rich in historical legacy as well as the natural resources. It used to be one of the richest countries in Asia until the country is ruled by one dictatorship, the military or Burma Army. If the country is fully opened up and have economic freedom, political freedom, it could become the richest country again. Today we have 5 historical places of Myanmar you would never see in other places in the world. They are unique and you would want to put in your list of going when visiting Myanmar.
Bagan is full of ancient pagodas and temples. You will be amazed by the architecture and landscape. The most beautiful moment of Bagan is the sun rise and the sunset. People would wait and catch that moment and feel the beauty of nature. Make sure you have this in your list!
It is the unfinished 50 m Height Pagoda. From top of the pagoda you can see the panoramic view over the Ayeyarwaddy River. Then to the Mingun Bell, weighing 90 tons and claimed as the largest un-cracked bell in the world, and Hsinbyume Pagoda, to see the aspect on the Buddhist cosmology. You might want to make this to be in your list.
Popa is the extinct Volcano and famous for the so called Oasis of the dry region and home for the Nats (Nats is basically the Spirits). You have to climb the 777 step uphill, if you want to see the panoramic view to the vicinity from the top of the Crater. This is the unusual place you want want to list down as well.
The Indein Pagoda complex was near the Indein village. From the landing place, walking through the market place, wooden bridge cross over the Indein canal to the entrance to the Indein Pagodas. More than 1000 ruined and restored Pagodas from 16th Century will give you a strange feeling visiting there. This is one of the hidden unknown historical place.
